The workshop is limited to ten adults 50 years and older. In this workshop you will create a resource binder with articles, prepare meaningful legacies and a legal Advanced Directive with safeguards, help your loved ones by speaking more comfortably about death and contemplate your own mortality, reflecting on your values. Join us as we hear the powerful stories from Richard Nelms, 95-year-old retired Army Air Corp pilot who flew 35 combat mission into Nazi occupied territory. Captain Nelms was involved in four battle campaigns, including Normandy. He was awarded the Air Medal five times along with the Distinguished Flying Cross. In fact the fastest growing type of 911 calls is for non-emergency needs, help up after a fall, behavioral health needs and injury prevention. Your fire department is on the leading edge of responding to these types of calls through the addition of social workers to our team. Captain Jeff Bellinghausen will introduce you to the program and provide fire safety information and answer your fire department questions.
